Easy Apple Tart
Preheat the oven to 220C. Leave an oven tray in there pre-heating too.
Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the bottom of an ovenproof frying pan and scatter the bits of chopped butter over it. On top of all that lay the apple quarters. Put the round side down, into the sugar/butter. Squeeze them all in tight.
Cook over a fairly high heat until the sugar caramelizes the apples. Take the pan off the element and place the puff pastry over the top, trimming the edges (not too much - there needs to be some overhang).
Now place the frying pan onto the hot oventray and bake for anout 10 - 15 mins or until the pastry is nice and golden. Let it cool and then CAREFULLY tip it out, so that the pastry is at the bottom. (Put a large plate over the whole thing and tip it all upside down, then lift the pan off).
Magic. Serve it with cream, icecream or custard.
