Steve's Big Chocolate Cake

Pre-heat the oven to 160C and line a large roasting dish with greased baking paper.

Now do this: in a large bowl add each ingredient in the order it's listed and beat with an electric beater.

Once you pour the hot (strong) coffee over the top keep beating till it's a smooth creamy batter.

Bake for approx. 1 hour.

Decorate with butter icing.

*If you want to swap for self raising flour get rid of the baking powder and only use a 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

Steve's Big Chocolate Cake - what do you reckon?

  • This was excellent when i needed a quick Bday cake for my two-year-old. Fed all the cousins nicely. I used decaf and it tasted great. Thanks!

  • This was a great cake! I added an extra egg and it was stupendous. It was the right texture to sculpt into what I wanted and I almost had a marriage proposal because of how good it tasted.
