Brownies

This comes (originally) from Dave's friend Jude. Cheers Jude.

Turn oven onto 190o.

Melt the butter and cocoa together in a saucepan being careful not to let it boil and stirring all the time.

Take off the stove and add the brown sugar, stir well.

Stir in the vanilla then the flour and beaten eggs.  Stir well.  Pour the mixture into a swiss roll tin,  lined with baking paper.  Put in the oven and cook for about 25 minutes.

It should be dark brown and cracked on the outside but goey in the middle.  Leave to cool in the tin, sprinkle with sifted icing sugar and then cut into squares, oblongs or whatever.

  • I thought it turned out too goey in the middle, probably because I haven't let it sit and cool enough before cutting. But everyone including mother in laws lovvvvvees it!! Thanks for the nice recipe.
