Best Brownie Ever

  • 1. Preheat oven to 160C. Line base of slice tin (27cm x 18cm x 3cm)
  • 2. Melt butter and stir in cocoa
  • 3. Add eggs one at a time beating well after adding each
  • 4. Add sugar and vanilla. Stir well
  • 5. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add to mixture and stir till mixed
  • 6. Stir through choc chips. Can add nuts if desired.
  • 7. Bake 45-50 mins. Brownie should still be soft inside so if skewer comes out with a bit of mixture on it, the brownie is just right if you can roll that mixture between your fingers.
  • 8. Leave to set in the tin for about 20 mins. Cut into bars when cold. Dust with icing sugar (optional)

  • Amazing. I modified the recipe by adding chunks of dark cooking chocolate and pouring in half the mixture, then making a layer of milk chocolate melts. So so good!

  • Made a gluten and dairy free version. It is not the 'best ever' this way but still pretty good :)
