Afghans

Warm the oven up to 180C.

Cream butter and sugar. Then sift flour and cocoa, stir into creamed mixture. Fold in cereals*.

Spoon rounds of mixture onto greased baking tray and press flat with a fork. Bake for about fifteen minutes.

When they cool down ice with chocolate icing.

* You can switch the cereals around. I use 1 and 1/2 cups 'Double Crunch' and 1/2 cup coconut. As long as the total adds up to 2 cups.

Afghans - what do you reckon?

  • Hi once again but being a bit of a smart ass I used meusli instead of the Weetbix so although they turned out OK they were a bit chompy to bite on! Will try again sometime but do as the recipe tells us. regards Peter A

  • Not too sweet. Kids love them. Put pecans on instead of walnuts. Bloody good combo. Trying ANZACs now.

  • I tried both Afghans and these ones came out better. The cereal makes a difference I guess.
